Album de la semaine: The Roots - Game Theory (Enfin yé sorti... Trop dope)

1 - Dillatastic Won(derful) - N/A
2 - False Media - 5 (I'm still hypnotized at this beat pattern, this song really grew on me after a few listens)
3 - Game Theory - 5 (Outstanding)
4 - Don't Feel Right - 4.5 (Not my favorite track but still very great, the hook kinda gets anoying but the beat is too ill, the breakdown at the end is executed perfectly)
5 - In The Music - 5 (This beat is just too much!)
6 - Take It There - 5 (The 2nd part... damn!)
7 - Baby - 4.5 (Great track, almost a 5)
8 - Here I Come - 5 (Too ill, what would be a roots album without a Dice Raw featuring?)
9 - Long Time - 5 (I've grown to love this one, even Peedi kills it)
10 - Livin' In A New World - 4.5
11 - Clock With No Hands - 5
12 - Atonement - 5
13 - Can't Stop This - 5 ( Donut Of The Heart made even better)

Beats : 5.0
Lyrics : 5.0

The Roots are back with their 7th studio album and now they are on the mighty Def Jam label. Thank god that Jay-Z let em have complete creative control, this album really feels like a complete work of art and nothing sounds forced. Like on every album, the always evolving band completely change their sound. This album is probably their darkest and most mature yet, Black Thought as an mc is always getting better and the music is getting more & more complex. The beats aren't some simple loops but rather some complete compositions. ?uestlove drums never sounded so hard, all of the music is perfect. I seriously can't find any flaws in the execution of this album, it just all flows so well and I want to listen to it on repeat. It's original, innovative, hard & dope. It might take a few listens to really get into it, but once you start noticing the little details in the beats and the flawless lyrics it really becomes an addictive listen. I've never heard anything like this, this is hip hop on another level, I'm calling it now album of the year and a future hip hop classic.
