( DETROIT IN THE MOTHAFUCKIN BUILDING! )

Think Black Milk is the only "other" good producer from Detroit?Nope!Waajeed as been doing his thing for a while too, producing for Slum Village and his own group Platinum Pied Pipers. This album is an assault of that Detroit hip hop, only that rough & rugged sound pioneereed by J Dilla. The album is mostly instrumentals but there's a few featurings from his bling47 crew too. All the beats bang hard and are quite innovative and fresh. These beats bang the fuck out the MPC as Dilla would say. Waajeed doesn't mess around, he will quickly convince you that he's a great producer. While "Triple P" from the Platinum Pied Pipers featured a smoother soul vibe, this is the opposite with a total chaotic ambience. The whole album is great whether it's the mixed or unmixed version. I strongly recommend this to all Stones Throw and/or Detroit fans, this is some great innovative hardcore hip hop.
